Here’s a little ditty I wrote on a Sunday morning walk from the pool (which was closed). As I walked back thinking about the upcoming election, I passed a squirrel and it triggered this song.

you’re walking along
you see a squirrel
chewin on a nut
right by your path
keep your head up
don’t be afraid
leave him alone
you might say hi

even that stingray
not knowing who
this champion was
he loved her too but
she took him from us

remember dogs
sniffin’ away
they’re not afraid
of how they feel
they go right up
and say how are you
in their own way

shooting at wolves
from a helicopter
it’s time to ask
is this a sport?
or is this dumb

like this for fun?
Obama is
the man of this time
because he realizes
in order for us to survive
we’ve got to get beyond
an America
that can’t focus upon
our future good
